In Loving Memory of My Wonderful Mother
October 12, 1926 - December 27, 2007

My wonderful mother passed away between Christmas and New Years. This is a very sweet but sad time. As you know we lost our dad, Jack K. Vogel in October of 2004. Where dad passed knowing I had exercised my buy/lease agreement, and was very happy about that, my mother passed but probably did not know that I had settled on the property December 17, just 10 days before she passed.

Mother had been a victim of Alzheimer's (diagnosed in 1996, here at Johns Hopkins, but lived in Salem, Ohio.) She remained able to communicate fairly well, but the steady decline of the ability to communicate never affected her gentle sweetness, kindness and ability to let us know she knew who we were. That was a true blessing.

4 of us 6 siblings, 3 of my sisters and I were with her when she passed. Thankfully, mother did not suffer, it was mostly very peaceful.

I am posting the obituary below, I want to say so much more but right now, any of you who have lost a truly wonderful mother will understand why I do not.

I love ALL of our Great Patrons, many of you are close friends, but I ask that you do not send personal condolences. I am posting to let you know. My siblings and I are all about the same, and the only way to describe it is a very sweet sadness.

Very Sincerely Yours,

D. Edward Vogel
